i-Love - My Online Crush - Chapter 5

Wednesday before the date:
"Oh god Hansol, I am so happy that you came.", Jimin said.
"What's wrong? It sounded urgent, when you called."
"It is super urgent.", Jimin confirmed.
After something had driven Jimin to agree to go to the movies with me as Hansol, he started panicking. He couldn't go nor could he stand me up. So there was only one solution left. Call the real Hansol and ask him for help.
Luckily Hansol had a spare minute and came over to the guys' apartment in no time. Jimin and Hansol were friends during Middle School. They stayed in contact even after Jimin started his trainee life and his career in BTS. They weren't best friends, but they had some history together.
"So what is it?", Hansol wanted to know. He sat down on one of the couches.
"You kind of have to go on a date for me.", Jimin immediately got to he point.
"What?", Hansol asked like he didn't hear correctly.
"It's this Friday. You got time, right?", Jimin awkwardly smiled.
"I think you need to explain to me a little what's even going on.", he said. He was startled.
"Well...", Jimin hesitated to tell him the story. "I kind of lied to a girl that I met online that I was you, so now she asked me for a date and I accepted and she expects you to come, not me."
Hansol blinked a few times. For a moment he thought Jimin was making a stupid joke. But seeing his serious expression, he knew Jimin was actually telling the truth.
"Slow down for a moment.", Hansol said and leaned forward. "Why would you tell her you are me?"
"Because I couldn't tell her it was me, for obvious reasons.", he made some wild gestures.
"I get that... but why chose ME?", Hansol wanted to know.
Jimin shrugged his shoulders. "You were the first guy I could think of, who isn't famous. You're tall and not ugly..."
"Thanks, I guess.", Hansol replied. He then sighed.
"So you will do it?", Jimin got his hopes up.
"Absolutely not.", Hansol said and shook his head.
"But why not?", Jimin whined. He didn't expect Hansol to refuse.
"One, I have a girlfriend and two I don't want to be part of this lie.", he explained.
"Please.", Jimin begged. He seemed desperate.
"Just tell her you lied to her and go yourself.", Hansol said.
"What if she isn't who she says she is?", Jimin asked still in a whiny tone.
Again Hansol sighed. He knew Jimin wouldn't give up until he gave in. That's how he's always been.
"What am I supposed to do? Go there and pretend to be you?", Hansol then asked.
"Basically you can be yourself. Just maybe leave out one or two details about yourself. Like that girlfriend. I don't think that's really helpful."
"You do realize I would be risking a lot, right?", Hansol replied. He didn't really want to go, but at the same time he wanted to help Jimin.
"I know.", Jimin sadly said and faced the ground. "I know I should've been honest, I guess. But I had my reasons to not tell her who I am. And I don't regret telling her it wasn't me. I'm sure she will eventually understand why I did it."
"So you want to tell her someday?", Hansol wanted to confirm.
"Of course.", Jimin immediately said. "Just not yet."
"When?" Hansol crossed his arms over his chest and looked at Jimin. If he really would be part of this, he needed to know for how long. "When will you tell her?"
"Just go on one date. And if it's really her, then I will tell her."
Hansol sighed yet another time. "I really hate doing this.", he said.
And that's how Jimin got Hansol to go on the date with me for him. I mean Jimin got a point there. He cannot actually just show up in a movie theater. Should I be understanding? Should I keep protecting him? What do you think? How would you've reacted? How do you think this story ends?

-

I went home with a strange feeling. The date was nothing like I expected it. And I couldn't say why. The thought that the person I talked to online and the person I just met weren't one and the same, grew stronger. It didn't make sense though. No sense at all. I didn't know that time how right I was about my feeling.
I went to the convenient store and hoped Kyungmin would be there. He was probably still on his date with Chanmi, but I really needed to talk to him. I needed to talk to someone.
I entered the store and the weight fell off of me when I saw him. Suddenly I teared up as I walked over to him. He was putting coffees into the shelf. I wrapped my arms around him from behind, pressed my head against his back and started crying.
Kyungmin, surprised by the sudden hug, was startled for a minute. He looked down on my arms around him and he knew it was me right away. But still he didn't understand why I was here crying.
"What happened?", he gently loosened my grip, turned around to pull me close to his chest. I was crying like there was no tomorrow. And I didn't even know why. I just couldn't stop.
Kyungmin rested his chin on my head, carefully caressing my back, trying to calm me down.
"Should I kill him?", Kyungmin asked. Of course he knew it had to have something to do with Hansol.
I shook my head and finally got a hold of myself.
"Come here.", Kyungmin said and guided me over to a small seating area. He placed me on one of the chairs and disappeared, only to come back with my favorite chocolate.
Then he also took a seat and looked at me with concern inside of his eyes.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be on a date?", I asked and tried to be funny.
Kyungmin smiled at me. He knew I was trying to be strong by changing the subject.
"Shouldn't you be on a date as well?", he asked.
I didn't answer. Instead, I opened up the chocolate and started eating the sweetness.
"What happened? Did he do something to you? Did he try something funny?", Kyungmin wanted to know and I saw how his entire body tensed by the thought that something might have happened to me.
"No, nothing like that.", I shook my head.
"Then...?", Kyungmin wanted to know.
"It was just so weird.", I started off. "I cannot really explain why."
"Promise me, he didn't hurt you?", he needed to make sure.
I nodded. "Promise.", I said. "It was just that what he said didn't match what he told me before."
"What do you mean?"
"Like he told me he had a younger brother and then he was talking about his older brother. Also he said something about when he was in military, but online he had told me he didn't go yet."
Kyungmin tilted his head to the side. He was deeply in thought.
"Maybe he was just nervous.", Kyungmin said.
"And that's why you forget your brother?", I rose my eyebrow in doubt. "And there is more. He showed me his ID because I didn't really believe he was Hansol."
"He actually showed you his ID?", Kyungmin asked.
"On his ID is said he was born February 17th. Though he had told me his birthday was October 13th."
"That is so weird.", Kyungmin confirmed what I had thought the entire time.
"Isn't it? So I kind of just ran away. I didn't know what to think, it didn't feel right being with him, because it didn't feel like it was actually him. The way he spoke was so different."
"But sometimes people act way different on the internet from what they are in real life."
"Really?", I asked.
"Of course. Because it's way easier to be someone else when you can hide behind the internet. You have time to think about what you text and it's way easier to lie about something when you don't face the person at that moment."
I thought about Kyungmin's words. "But why would he lie about those stupid things?", I wanted to know.
Kyungmin shrugged his shoulders.
"It just doesn't make sense, why would you lie about your family or your birthday. What's the difference?!", I really didn't get it at all.
"Maybe you should just quit seeing him.", Kyungmin carefully suggested.
"You think so?"
Kyungmin's opinion meant a lot to me. And somehow I thought he was right. I shouldn't waste my time on someone lying to me. But I wasn't ready to give up on Hansol just yet. He had been so sweet and smart. I didn't want to lose him already. I somehow thought that maybe I should give him a chance to explain himself. To tell me what was going on. I should confront him.
"Thank you.", I said. I already felt a lot better after talking to him. And I was glad that he didn't say 'see, I told you so'. That was the last thing that I needed right now.
"I'm always here for you.", he said and carefully stroke over my back.
"Tell me about your date.", I then said.
"It was okay.", Kyungmin said.
"Just okay?", I gasped.
"We decided to not see each other again."
"What do you mean?" What on earth was he saying? Chanmi was just gorgeous. How could he not want to see her again.
"It just doesn't work out.", he said and his eyes sparkled at me.
"That makes me so sad.", I said and made a face.
"It's fine.", he said. And a hint of sadness took that sparkle away.

Soo Young: Hey
I didn't really know how to start off. And I didn't know what exactly I wanted to tell him, how I should confront him. I didn't want to sound like a crazy person accusing him of lying. But I couldn't carry on like nothing had happened.
Hansol: Hey
Of course Hansol was confused by my message. After I had left him behind in the restaurant, I suddenly made a move and talked to him. He probably didn't expect me to message him again. At least not so soon.
But actually there was Jimin sitting on his phone, quite confused. Even more confused than the real Hansol I'd say. Because he didn't know what had happened. He didn't know I ran off.
Soo Young: I kinda need to talk to you about something.
Hansol: Sure, go ahead.
Soo Young: I may sound crazy, but I just have to get this off my chest.
Hansol: Don't worry :) You can talk to me about anything.
That was the Hansol I knew. Sweet and caring. There was just something different to him when we messaged. Was it really just nervousness or was he, like Kyungmin said, just more eloquent when he was texting?!
Soo Young: Today was kind of strange to be honest. I mean I was glad that it was actually you in the sense of you are the guy on the pictures but there were just things that threw me off.
Soo Young: Sorry I just ran away like that...
As you can imagine Jimin was now somewhat shocked. And he was scared at the same time that everything he had carefully built was falling apart already. Even before he got the chance to come clean.
Hansol: Don't worry about it. You can talk to me.
I took a deep breath. I didn't know what I could expect. And there was no easy way of talking about this. I had to confront him. I had to be bold. And that was certainly not one of my strengths.
Soo Young:  So you told me you didn't attend military service yet. But today there was this moment when you said 'when I was in military'... That actually really confused me.

-

"Shit...", Jimin cursed. He threw his phone into a pillow and tore his hair in anger.
"What happened now?", Taehyung asked. He was in the kitchen getting a glass of water.
"He screwed it up.", Jimin complained.
"Hansol did?", Taehyung asked with a weird grin on his lips.
"Yes.", Jimin sighed. He didn't know what to reply now. Because he didn't know what had been going on. He needed to contact Hansol first. So there wouldn't be any more inconsistencies in their story.
"What did he do?", Taehyung kept asking.
"I don't know yet. But Soo Young just messaged me and told me that she needed to talk to me."
"Oh oh.", Taehyung confirmed that this couldn't mean any good.
"She said Hansol talked about his military days where I had told here I didn't attend yet."
"Oh boy.", Taehyung sighed. He knew Jimin needed him now and stayed by his friend's side.
Jimin dialed Hansol's number. But he didn't pick up.
"But didn't you go over the details with him before?"
"I did.", Jimin said. "But I guess he just forgot or something."
"I don't think he did it on purpose.", Taehyung nodded.
"I don't think so too. I should've talked over every little detail. I basically told him to be himself and just leave out a few things here and there. I thought since he knew me, he would know what to leave out, you know."
"I guess you should've pretended to be him all the way."
"You should've been yourself.", Jungkook suddenly joined the conversation.
"How long have you been standing there?", Taehyung asked in surprise.
"Long enough to know that I was right I you were wrong.", he said. His face was serious. "I told you don't lie to her. Why would you think you could get away with that. You will lose her."
Jimin looked at his friend and member with pain in his eyes. He was mad at himself for lying. But at the same time he would've done it again. He was torn between what was right and what was wrong.
"You really like her, don't you?", Jungkook asked. "And she seems to be real since Hansol didn't get back to you yet. I guess he would've called you right away if it wasn't her."
Jimin slowly nodded.
"Call her, tell her it is you.", Jungkook said.
Taehyung didn't know what to think of this. He could understand both sides.
"I can't.", Jimin said whispering. He looked like his entire life had come to an end. It was obvious that he was suffering.
"You have to. If you continue this lie you will make it worse and worse.", Jungkook explained.
"He has a point.", Taehyung supported his idea.
"I know.", Jimin quietly said. He looked like he was about to cry.
"Don't even look at me like that.", Jungkook said and crossed his arms in front of his chest. "You should've known better. You knew what consequences it could have. And now we are here, worst case scenario."
"You said she will eventually understand, right?", Taehyung asked Jimin.
Jimin nodded. He was holding back his tears and wasn't able to speak.
"Maybe you should really tell her.", he said.
"Let me tell you something.", Jungkook said. "I get why you lied. Really, I get it. But you made sure, she is who she says she is. She isn't some crazy fan, she doesn't sound like a crazy person at all. She is a real human being. With feelings and all. If you continue to lie, she won't be able to forgive you. If you tell her now, you probably have a fair chance that she will understand. She even asked you out, she is interested in you. Don't waste this opportunity right now."
"Woah, when did you become so smart?", Taehyung gaped.
Jungkook didn't pay any attention to Taehyung but kept Jimin in his focus.
Jimin knew Jungkook was probably right. But it was one thing to tell someone to be honest and another to actually be the person who had to admit they were lying.

-

Hansol: I don't really know what to say right now. But I want to explain everything to you.
So there actually was something to explain. His words scared me.
Hansol: Can we meet again? I don't want to discuss this on the phone.
It took him a lot of courage to say that. I swallowed down the lump inside my throat. I was even more scared than before. He was hiding something. I didn't know if I was ready for this kind of conversation with him. So far everything had been like a dream. He was that handsome, smart, funny and sweet guy. He was perfect. So I thought. But of course there had to be something to him. Nobody was perfect after all. There had to be something wrong with him. I had hoped that it would be a weird thing, maybe he liked dogs more than cats or he liked mint flavored ice cream. Why did it have to be something so serious and scary that we even had to have a conversation about it?!
I sighed. Dating wasn't easy. Maybe I shouldn't date at all. People were so complicated. I was fine on my on up until now. Suddenly I had so many feelings, so many ups and downs and I had to be all serious and concerned and... heart broken?
Hansol had made it so easy for me to fall for him. I was vulnerable. I opened up to him and let him in. And now I had to live with the comeback. Maybe I had been naive to believe he was the one? I felt like I couldn't follow my heart. I had to follow my brain. Following my heart only gave me pain.
If you didn't know by now, I wasn't really the romantic type of person. I didn't look for Prince Charming, I wasn't searching for Mr. Right, I didn't like romance and I knew that those guys in the movies weren't real. Guys like that didn't exist. So I wasn't here alone waiting for that movie-like guy to suddenly appear and prove me wrong. Some people might call me negative. But I thought of myself as realistic.
I had thrown all my principles away when meeting Hansol. Although he seemed like that perfect guy from one of these movies, I didn't want to see the warning signals. I ignored them and I guess, for a moment, I believed I had been wrong all my life and guys like that did actually exist.
It felt like it was the end. Our story was short and had come to and end already. I didn't know yet what he was about to tell me when we would meet. But I felt like it would be something that would destroy my trust in him. My heart was telling me that he was a genuine person. But my brain told me there was something awfully wrong with him and I had to keep my distance to not be absorbed by him.

i-Love - My Online Crush - Chapter 4

Jimin had his eyes focused on his screen.
"What's going on here?", Jungkook asked. He had heard the guys yelling and had come out of his room to see what it was about.
"Soo Young sent Jimin a picture of her.", Taehyung explained.
Jimin was sort of out of words. But I didn't know he was speechless because he found me exceptionally pretty or because he was just shocked that I had actually sent him a picture.
"That girl from the internet?", Jungkook wanted to confirm.
Taehyung nodded while Jungkook approached the scene. He wanted to see for himself.
"That's really her?", he asked a little shocked. "What did she say?"
"Yea, what did she say?", Taehyung asked and pushed Jimin aside, who was still staring at the screen without moving.
"She didn't say anything. Just sent that picture.", Taehyung said after a while.
"We should check if she's real.", Jungkook said.
Now Jimin turned around: "How are we gonna do that?", he wanted to know.
"We send the picture through google search.", he shrugged his shoulders.
"You sound like you did this a million times.", Taehyung frowned.
"I didn't. I saw it on a show that I was watching."
"So, how are we going to do that?", Jimin asked.
"Wait a second.", Jungkook said and then disappeared.
Taehyung and Jimin exchanged a concerned look. Jungkook came back with his laptop in his hands, having the instructions in front of him.
"Save that picture and then open another browser window.", Jungkook said.
So they did as planned. They google searched my picture. But - as I expected - nothing came up.
"So what does that mean?", Jimin asked. He was overwhelmed from the situation.
"I guess that means she's real.", Jungkook shrugged his shoulders. "Or that picture is from a private instagram account."
"How do you even know so much about that?", Taehyung wondered. He found it a little creepy.
"Like I said, I watched a show where they did that."
"I guess I don't even want to know what kind of show that is. It's really creepy, dude. Like stalking.", Taehyung answered.
"It's not stalking.", Jungkook defended himself. "It's investigating."
"Same thing.", Taehyung shrugged his shoulders and gave Jungkook a disgusted glance.
Jungkook sighed. "Anyways, what are you going to do now?"
Jimin looked at the two searching for help.
"You cannot send her a picture of yourself.", Taehyung stated.
Now Jimin realized how stupid that lie has been. He had told me his name was Hansol. He couldn't send me a picture of the real him now. Or else I would figure out his lie.
"You could always come clean.", Jungkook suggested.
Jimin rose an eyebrow. "I can't do that."
"So you will continue to lie to her?", Jungkook spat. He didn't approve of Jimin's lie. Especially not now that he had seen me. Suddenly there was a real person on the other end of the internet. Someone with feelings and someone who probably didn't deserve to be lied at.
"I don't know what to do.", Jimin whined.
"Send her a picture of Hansol.", Taehyung suggested.
"What kind of stupid idea is that?!", Jungkook shook his head.
"But what else is there...I cannot ignore her, neither can I tell her the truth."
"Why can't you?", Jungkook wanted to know. In fact he did know why Jimin hesitated to tell me who he was. I guess everyone would've understood. But that didn't make it right. He was still lying, using my trust. You should always be thinking of the consequences that come with your actions - always.
"I'm gonna look for a good picture on his instagram.", Taehyung said. He sat back down on the couch and started to scroll through the real Hansol's pictures. "Oh look, his profile is private, we are google search proof.", he joked.
"Not funny.", Jimin spat.
"I think it's quite funny.", Taehyung giggled.
"Just look for a picture, will you?", Jimin asked him somewhat annoyed. He was stressed and when he was stressed he was always a little on edge.
"I can't believe you guys.", Jungkook said. But neither of the two payed attention to him. Jungkook sighed and then left the living room. He didn't want to be part of this conspiracy going on.

-

After sending the guy I knew as Hansol that picture, I decided to go for a late night snack. So I went to my usual spot to get that. Yes you're right, I went to see Kyungmin.
I grabbed some chips and joined Kyungmin at the counter.
"What happened to your hair?", Kyungmin gasped.
I started to panic: "You don't like it?", I tried to check my hair in the reflection of my phone.
"No, no, no. That's not what I meant.", Kyungmin said.
I looked at him with sad puppy eyes waiting for him to explain himself.
"It's really beautiful. I mean you're always beautiful, but this is...just...wow.", he said.
A smile captured my lips and I looked at the ground a little flustered. I wasn't used to being complimented that much.
"I went to a salon with my co worker.", I gleamed at him.
"A girl I suppose.", he said.
I nodded.
"Which reminds me.", I started off. There was no easy way to put it... "She asked me for a favor."
"What kind of favor?", Kyungmin asked. He looked me directly in the eyes. He always did that. It was a captivating look that had irritated me in the beginning. But I got used to the way he looked at me by now.
"She asked me if I could arrange a blind date for her.", I said. "With you."
I smiled at him, trying to make the situation better.
"With me?", he wanted to confirm.
I nodded.
He turned around for a while, pretending to sort something into the shelf behind the counter.
"She's really pretty, you know. I guess you've seen her before when you came to pick me up.", I explained. I knew he hated blind dates, but after all I thought he could like Chanmi.
He finally looked at me again. There was a deep sadness inside of his eyes that, at that time, I just didn't see. Or maybe I didn't want to see it.
"Why the sudden change of hair?", he asked and changed the subject.
"I don't know.", I said.
"It's because of that Hansol guy, am I right?", he sighed. He looked at me with a serious expression.
I had to smile and I was blushing because he had caught me. It was so embarrassing.
"What happened to you?", he wanted to know.
"What do you mean?", I asked a little confused.
"Since when do you get your hair done because of some guy?"
"I didn't get it done only because of him.", I grumbled. And even if I was, what was wrong with that?!
"But you do admit he was one of the reasons.", he said. He seemed to be angry and I didn't understand what was going on all of the sudden.
"Why does it even matter?", I yelled at him.
A customer that was in the store looked at us a little confused.
Kyungmin ran his fingers through his hair.
"You're right, it doesn't matter.", he said. I could feel how he tried to be calm. Yet I didn't get why he was furious in the first place. "So, you want me to go on a blind date with your co worker?"
"It's not like I want you to go...I was just asking, if you would, because she asked me for it.", I stated.
"So you don't want me to go then?", he asked me. There was that piercing look of his again. But now it was intimidating.
"What?", I asked. I didn't understand what was going on anymore.
"Fine.", he spat.
"Fine, you will go?", I wanted to confirm.
"If it makes you happy when I go out with some girl, sure.", he said.
"I guess it makes me happy.", I replied furrowing. This conversation had been so weird. "I will go now."
"Yea, whatever.", Kyungmin said.
"And I will tell Chanmi you said yes to the blind date.", I said while leaving.
Kyungmin didn't reply anymore and so I left the store without another word and went up to my apartment.
"Kyungmin, you're an idiot.", he said to himself when I was gone.
With all the fuss I had completely forgotten that I had sent that picture to Hansol. I will just refer to him as Hansol to not make things unnecessarily complicated. You guys all know that Hansol is actually Jimin, but I didn't know that, so for me he really was Hansol.

-

"Here, I got you something.", Taehyung smiled at Jimin and held a small box in front of him.
"My birthday isn't until next week.", Jimin said. He literally had just woken up when Taehyung had barged into his room.
"Anyways...", he gave Jimin the box. "It's a phone. Hansol's phone."
"What are you talking about?", Jimin asked.
"I thought about it all night - you cannot give that girl your real phone number, she could sell it or something once she finds out about who you are."
"She's not evil, you know."
"And she also doesn't know that you are a liar.", Taehyung stated. And he was right. They couldn't know how mad I would be once I found out the truth.
"And that's why you bought me a phone?", Jimin asked again.
"Exactly.", Taehyung said. "You can use that phone to message her, set up a kakaotalk and all..."
"It feels so wrong to use Hansol's pictures, though.", Jimin said. He sat up in his bed looking at Taehyung.
Taehyung let himself down on the bed as well with a sigh.
"Maybe you should've thought about that before you told her you were Hansol."
Jimin ran his hands through his hair, his head was thinking a million thoughts at the same time and none of them were what he was looking for.
"You have three options here:
a) You continue to be Hansol
b) You tell her you lied and that you're you
c) You just delete the chat and your account and never talk to her again."
What option would you have chosen? And what do you think Jimin chose?

-

"You are a genius.", I gasped to Chanmi when I suddenly received a message from Hansol asking for my kakaotalk. "How did you even do that?"
Chanmi shrugged her shoulders while smiling at me.
I really didn't believe it would work. And I didn't understand why it did work. Why would a picture make a guy ask me for my number. But I didn't even want to think another second about it and I answered right away.
It was a quiet day at work with almost no customers and so Chanmi and I got a while to catch up.
"It's so exciting.", Chanmi rubbed her hands. "I hope he has a profile picture.", she said.
My heart started pounding really hard inside my chest. I was so nervous. I still didn't know who Hansol was other than what he had told me. I was more than excited to finally see what he looked like and if he looked anything like I imagined him to.
"By the way, I don't want to sound rude, but did you get a chance yet to ask Kyungmin?", Chanmi asked and she suddenly seemed a little nervous.
"Oh, right. I totally forgot. I mean I asked him last night and he said yes."
"Really?", Chanmi jumped up from her chair.
It made me happy to see her that excited.
"Then when can I meet him?", Chanmi asked.
"He didn't really say anything yet. But maybe I can give him your number? Or would you like to get his number?"
I never played armor before, I didn't know how this worked.
"I have a brilliant idea.", Chanmi then said, her eyes glittering. "We can go on a double date."
"What?", I yelled.
"It's perfect, think about it. You can meet Hansol and it will be super safe because we will be there too. So in case he's a creep Kyungmin can protect you. Actually I think if he isn't who he says he is, he will never agree to a double date in the first place. So either way you can be more safe."
It actually wasn't a bad idea. Just the thought of meeting Hansol was scaring me. Everything went so fast. A few days ago I was just talking to a stranger on the internet and now I was supposed to meet up with him.
"But I cannot just ask him for a date.", I said.
"First you should ask Kyungmin, if he's okay with that.", Chanmi said.
"And you're really willing to give up on your date with Kyungmin to be with me?", I wanted to know.
"It'll still be a date for me. Don't worry about that.", she laughed.

So I had to talk to Kyungmin about our double date. And I really hoped he would agree. It would make things so much easier for me, if he was there.
On my way home from work, I finally got a message on kakaotalk. Hansol had added me and he actually had a profile picture. I was super nervous opening his profile to check out his picture.
He was really cute, you guys. He had black hair and pale skin, a really gentle smile. He looked like a really nice guy and I was so relieved that he really seemed to be who he said he was. And I was even more excited to get our plan into action and to set up that double date.
"Kyungmin, Kyungmin.", I shouted through the store. If you wonder why Kyungmin was seemingly always working, you should keep on reading to find out the reason. ;)
Kyungmin smiled at me with one of his million dollar smiles. It seemed like our little argument from last night was all forgotten now. He had still acted a little weird in the morning though.
"Guess what.", I jumped up and down in front of him.
"What?", he wanted to know.
I held my phone in front of him to let him see Hansol's picture.
"If you would stop jumping, I could actually be able to see what you're trying to show me.", he laughed.
So I stoped jumping. I was a little out of breath from running all the way here and all the jumping.
"Oh.", Kyungmin said.
"He added me on kakaotalk and that's him. Doesn't he look good?", I asked.
Kyungmin leaned in closer to the phone. "I mean he's okay, I guess.", he said.
"Okay? He's sooooo cute.", I raved. Hansol was even better looking than I had imagined.
Kyungmin shrugged his shoulders. "I don't think he's your type."
I didn't even know myself what my type was, how was Kyungmin supposed to judge?!
"Here's the plan.", I said. "You, Chanmi, Hansol and me we will go on a double date."
"Is that a statement or a question?", Kyungmin furrowed.
"It actually is a question, but it would be great if I could make it a statement."
"So I will be going on a date with you?", a playful smile captured Kyungmin's lips as he leaned forward on the counter. His face was right in front of mine. He was so close I could see all the different brown tones in his eyes.
"No. You will be going on a date with Chanmi, while at the same time I'm going on a date with Hansol.", I explained and squinted my eyes at him. This wasn't a good time for his jokes.
Kyungmin sighed and backed off again. "Fine."
"Really?", I clapped my hands together. I didn't think it would be so easy to convince him.
He shrugged his shoulders: "Why not. I better check this dude out."
"That's just great.", I happily said, sort of ignoring Kyungmin's last words. Now only the last part of the plan had to work out. But since Chanmi came up with it, I was most certain that it would.

A little while later I found myself already caught up in a conversation with Hansol. It still was so easy to talk to him. We literally always had something to talk about.
Soo Young: I wanted to go see Tazza for another time with my friends this Friday.
Hansol: You can never watch it enough.
Soo Young: How many times have you seen it already?
Hansol: Just once. Literally nobody wanted to go again kk
Soo Young: You could join us, if you wanted...
It was a dangerous move. I could be rejected. I was nervously looking at my phone waiting for an answer. Come on Chanmi, please be right.
Hansol: Your friends wouldn't mind?
That wasn't a no. So far so good.
Soo Young: No, they don't mind. Actually I would be third-wheeling them...
Hansol: I have to check my schedule, but I would gladly except the offer. I cannot let you be the third wheel ;)
I jumped up on my couch in joy. So much jumping in one day. I would meet Hansol. Finally I had a date. For the first time I, Soo Young, would have a date.

We had decided to meet in front of the movies. Kyungmin and I went together and I was more than happy that he was here. I was so nervous. I've probably never been so nervous in my entire life.
"What if he doesn't show up?", I whined.
"Then he's an idiot.", Kyungmin tried to calm me down. He wore a white v-neck shirt, a pair of ice blue jeans and a plaid wool jacket.
"I'm so scared.", I continued to complain. I hated situations like this. That's exactly why I didn't do dates. It was nerve wrecking. Why did people do this?
"It will be fine.", Kyungmin said.
Then I saw Chanmi. She was beautiful as always. She had bright pink lips that complimented her pale skin. Also she wore a short skirt and some kitten heels. I wish I could pull off those outfits. She always looked so fancy and girly. I was more of the sporty type and I rarely ever wore skirts. Correction: I never wore skirts.
"Kyungmin, hi.", she said and fixed her eyes on him.
"Hi, you must be Chanmi. Soo Young didn't lie, you are really beautiful."
Wow it only took like five seconds and I already felt like the third wheel. But the nervousness didn't disappear.
"Hey, there he is.", Chanmi elbowed me.
I looked up and then I saw him. It was really him. It was the Hansol from the pictures. He was almost as tall as Kyungmin, he wore his University jacket and he seemed to be as nervous as I was.
"Hi, I'm Hansol.", he introduced himself. "I hope you didn't wait for long."
I immediately shook my head. I was so happy he was here and all of the sudden I didn't even feel nervous anymore.
Kyungmin on the other hand eyeballed Hansol with a careful and observing look.
"The movie is about to start, we should hurry.", Chanmi said.
We bought our tickets, Hansol payed for me and he even bought us some popcorn and something to drink, while Kyungmin paid for Chanmi. They did make a cute couple. Two hopelessly beautiful people together.
It was a bit strange, I had to admit. The movies weren't maybe the best choice for a first date. Because we weren't able to talk. I was just sitting in my seat, Hansol on one, Kyungmin on the other side.
And Chanmi noticed that Kyungmin kept his eye on me and Hansol.
After the movie Chanmi already had a new plan.
"So actually I have plans now.", she said.
I looked at her in confusing. What did she mean, she had plans. There were no plans. No.
"Kyungmin, would you mind taking me home?", she asked him.
Kyungmin hesitated for a while. Chanmi's elbow hit him. "Let's go, hm?!"
"But wait...", I wanted to stop them.
Chanmi took Kyungmin and pulled him along.
"You two should go get some dinner.", she nodded and made weird expressions that were probably supposed to tell me 'don't you get it, I'm trying to give you space'.
"Let's get some dinner.", Chanmi smiled at Kyungmin when they were out of my reach.
"Are you sure, she'll be okay?", Kyungmin wanted to know. He didn't like leaving me behind.

A while later Hansol and I sat inside a restaurant with some food in front of us.
"How did you like the movie now? Was it any different from the first time?", I asked.
Hansol looked at me smiling: "I loved it even more."
I didn't really know what to say. It was different sitting in front of him from talking via messaging.
"When I was in military my group watched one of the movies together.", he said.
"I thought you didn't go to military yet?!", he confused me.
He nervously laughed. "Did I say I. I meant my older brother."
"Your younger brother.", I corrected him. I felt weird, why did he say different things from before?
"Sorry, yes, my younger brother. He is so mature and all I always forget he is actually the younger one, you know. I watched the movie with him and his military friends."
"Aah, okay.", I nodded. It did make sense - in a way...
"Tell me more about you.", he said. "How's work?"
"It's fine I guess. Not too great but not bad either.", I answered.
"What do you do in your free time?", he wanted to know.
"Well, as you know mostly I am busy with the fan cafe, posting, reviewing those kind of things."
"Fan cafe?", he asked.
Was he actually kidding me?
"The Tazza fan cafe, where we met?", I furrowed. Something was really off.
"Oh right, sorry. I already forgot. It just seems like I know you for such a long time.", he explained.
"What are you doing in your free time?", I asked.
"Mostly studying. Sometimes I visit my family. Sunday's we mostly go to church.", he said. "Ah, I like dancing.", he quickly added.
"You go to church with your family?", I pressed him on.
He looked at me a little hesitant. Probably he didn't understand why I was asking. But it was just so weird that almost nothing he said matched what he said earlier.
"I thought your family lives in Busan.", I stated.
He nervously laughed. "Right, my parents live in Busan, but I have an aunt here."
"You are really Hansol, right?!", I just had to ask him.
"Yes.", he affirmed.
It was hard to believe him. I didn't understand what was going on. He was so different. He looked the same but he behaved so differently. He seemed to know almost nothing about me...
"I think I want to go home.", I said with a heavy heart.
"No, no wait.", he kept me from leaving. He grabbed my arm and carefully pushed me back into my seat. "Really, I am Hansol. Here see my ID.", he said and already pulled his ID out of his wallet.
I took his ID card. Kim Hansol, born in Seoul on February 17th 1995.
His name was correct, his picture matched his face. But everything else was wrong. I was confused. More than confused.
"I mean, I believe you I guess.", I said. I still wanted to go home. "I just..."
"What is it?, he wanted to know. He seemed nice and all...he just didn't seem like he Hansol that I knew. Maybe I had too much expectations when I decided to meet him...
"I just need some time to think about some things.", I said. "I'm sorry." And with that I left. I had to leave. I had to get some fresh air to clear my mind. I had to go home and check our messages. Maybe I was wrong, maybe I had misunderstood some things. Maybe I was wrong...
